Biographical Note for Buckley, Francis J., Jr. :

Francis J. Buckley, Jr., received both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Library Science at the University of Michigian. Buckley worked at the Detrioit Public Library starting in 1966 until 1994, during that time Buckley served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. In 1994, Buckley became the director of Shaker Heights Public Library, where he stayed until 1997. From 1997-2003, Buckley served as the Superintendent of Documents at the US Government Printing Office. He was then appointed the Interim Director of the District of Columbia Public Library from 2005-2006.

Buckley served as the chair of the Government Documents Round Table from 1978-1980 and as an active member of the round table and the American Library Association since 1974. He also been an active member of other numerous government document and library related associations and programs.
