Description: Papers of George deVries Klein, (1933-) professor of Geology (1970-92), including "Rocknocker: A Geologist's Memoir," (2009), "Dissensions" a 370-page published and 926-page typescript novel with a fictionalized account of academic life in a geology department, 34 page transcription of an April 23, 1993 Geology colloquium talk on "23.5 years of (Kleinian) Sedimentology and Sedimentary Geology at the University of Illinois" , submission to the Applequist Panel in 1976 concerning a grievance and Geology department governance, funding and salaries and Klein's Masters (1957) and Doctoral theses (1960), and scholarly publications on Triassic sedimentation, deep sea drilling projects, sedimentology of the Great Oolite Series, sandstone depositional models for exploration of fossil fuels, Pennsylvanian cyclothems and startup petroleum consultancy.
