Description: Papers of Preston Heath Tuttle (1914-90) '34; M.A. '56; Ph.D. '63; professor of English and Speech (1964-68), including subject files (1954-80) for his 1963 dissertation, Comedy as a Preprojection of Childhood Experience, consisting of notes, press clippings, playbills, and manuscripts relating to comedic theory, particularly Farce and New Comedy; playbills (1932-35) from the Illinois Theater Guild; class rosters and playbills (128-31) from University High School in Urbana; correspondence with and clippings on stage director Wilford Leach (1957-88); correspondence and examples of printing related to the Waygoose Society, an Urbana club devoted to fine printing (1954-72); programs and posters of the UI Film Society (1955-67); correspondence, posters, and memos related to the UI History of Science Society (1955-68); and Tuttle's critique (1973) of an original screenplay, Law and Order (1972).
