Description: Papers of Theodore Peterson (1918-1999), Dean of College of Communication (1957-87), include correspondence with publishers, former students, newspaper reporters, magazine personnel and editors, advertising and public relations officers and faculty members about American Society of Magazine Editors internships, academic appointments, <i>Esquire</i> and Arnold Gingrich, Journalism program evaluations,magazine history and publishing, <i>Newsweek</i>, and <i>Illinois Issues</i>. The series includes early articles from the <i>Minnesota Daily</i> and other publications (1933-40); a research file for the book <i>Magazines in the Twentieth Century</i> (1956); publications (1933-2001) and manuscripts (1948, 1951-87) ; speeches, book reviews related to magazine publishing, dissertations, and books; publications by colleagues and former Illinois students (1935, 1950-72, 1986-87); course materials (1965-89); a cassette recording of an interview with Dean Allen Weller (1993); and photographs (1961-70).
