Affiliated Organizations File contains by-laws, correspondence, grant applications, publications, memoranda, newsletters, reports, national conference papers, statements, studies, and surveys from AALS Headquarters Office concerning organizations with which the AALS holds a founding membership, a special affiliation, or a close working relationship and relating to academic accreditation, minority student funding, minority recruitment, LSAT complaints, test development, student and faculty travel grants, and the promotion of educational legislation.  This series includes files on associations devoted to the advancement of legal education [American Law Institute (ALI), Council on Legal Education Opportunity (1968-86, 1988-91), the Law School Admissions Council (1967-90, 1995), and the National Association of College and University Attorneys (1968-74, 1984-85, 1988, 1990, 1996)] and files on organizations devoted to the promotion of general education [the American Association for Higher Education (1965-66, 1968-73, 1976, 1980, 1988), the American Council of Learned Societies (1958-60, 1964-85, 1987-89, 1990-91), the American Council on Education (1958-59, 1962-76), the Consortium of Social Sciences Associations (1967-73, 1977-80, 1982-91), and the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation (1974-91)].
