Description: Materials of Elvin Warrick (1895-1977), mathematics librarian (1927-1962), including glass slides, film strips and narrative notes concerning pre-1850 arithmetic and mathematics books. The slides and strips were used for presentations to library discussion groups, Illinois Teachers Association and graduate students in mathematics. Also included are notes and bibliographic cards on early mathematic and arithmetic books and biographical sketches of the authors; notes on mathematical periodicals; "A List of Mathematical Books in America" compiled by Warrick (1938); and correspondence between Warrick and University of Michigan mathematics professor, Louis Karpinski (1937-39).
