Description: Publications of the Second International Mathematics Study undertaken by the International Association for the Evaluation of Education Achievement and coordinated in the United States by Kenneth J. Travers, Chairman of the International Mathematics Committee and Director of the U.S. National Coordinating Center, including News-Update (1979-83); Information Reports (1980-83) on calculators, minimal competency, gender and applications; occasional papers (1983); bulletin (1980); and technical and summary reports (1985). The study investigated mathematics education in the curriculum and classroom by a survey of the teaching and learning of mathematics. Single publications relate to comparative curricular studies (1980) and the interpretation of cross cultural data (1981). The series includes programs for conferences on secondary school mathematics in the United States (1984-85).
