Records of the George & Paul Shuman 160 (1916-55) & 320 (1956-74) acre farm in El Paso Township (Woodford County). Recorded on Illinois Farm Account Books (1916-45) and Illinois Farm Management Service Farm Account Books (1946-74), the records contain detailed information on farm operations for each year including an inventory of land, improvements, buildings and livestock; livestock fees and sales; dairy and egg sales; machinery, equipment and automobile inventory and operating expenses; map of the farm and crop-system summary, crops raised and sold; inventory of feed, grain and supplies; cash receipts and expenses; summary of expenses including taxes and unpaid family labor; capital purchases and sales; products used on the farm and a financial business analysis summary. George Shuman operated the farm from 1916 to 1935; Paul from 1936 to 1974.

The series includes annual and summary farm business reports showing aggregate and comparative data on Woodford County and North Central Illinois farms (1923-46).Â Also included is a copy of George Shuman's 1913 tax form - the first year required by the U.S. government.
