Description: Files contain records of the Computer-based Education Research Laboratory (CERL) Microtutor (mtutor) and Cluster projects and their integration into NovaNET. mtutor was the successor to the TUTOR courseware language of the PLATO/NovaNET system and was designed for microcomputers instead of traditional mainframes. mtutor was licensed to TDK Corp. of Japan. The Cluster project also included the development of a Local Area Network (LAN). NovaNET was a satellite-linked successor to PLATO that made increasing use of the personal computer during the 1980s. Included in this series is the correspondence of Sam Milosevich, Assistant Head of System Software at CERL, that is related to these projects, and CERL Personnel Records (1980-1987).
