Description: Campus Planning and Development File, including a report by the Committee on Future Development of the Chicago Undergraduate Division to President Lloyd Morey (1954); a report by the Commission in Relation to the Establishment of a Branch of the University of Illinois in the Chicago Area to the Illinois General Assembly (1955); A Report of the University Committee on a Four-Year Program for the Chicago Undergraduate Division (1958); A Ten Year Building Space Estimate for Development of a General Campus Plan (1960); a report on college enrollments, 1909-1916; a political science master's thesis, The Press and the Harrison Halsted Story (1964) by Richard E. Anderson, examining newspaper opposition to the selection of the Harrison Halsted neighbor hood as the site of the Chicago branch of the University of Illinois and a program for Construction Marker Ceremony (1967), including TEXT of all remarks made at the ceremony. The series includes "The University of Illinois at Congress Circle, Antecedent Events, Architectural Design, Education Programs" (ca. 1962) and Graphic and Statistical Profile of the Chicago Undergraduate Division (Sept 1958) prepared by the Senate Technical Research Committee, Peter Klassen, Chairman. The series includes a copy of a 74 page manuscript "The Circle Campus- The Site Was the Ball Game" Written by Arthur H. Rotstein at the University of Chicago Center for Policy Study in 1971.
