Administrative History:

Isabelle Fitch Grant (1896 - 1990) was the Rare Book Room librarian at the University of Illinois (1942-1965). She earned her bachelor's degree in library science in 1929 and her master's degree in 1937 from the U of I. She supervised the transfer of the Rare Book Room at the U of I into expanded quarters and was in charge of the 17th century collection at the university. She retired in 1965 with the rank of associate professor.

Scope and Contents

Papers of Isabelle Fitch Grant (1896 - 1990) Rare Book Room Librarian (1942-65) contain agenda, minutes, and supporting documents regarding departmental libraries meetings; annual reports; memos; statistical information; and University reference folders.
