Scope and Contents

Classroom Practices in Teaching English consists of books published by the National Council of Teachers of English and the NCTE Committee on Promising Practices (1963-68), later renamed the NCTE Committee on Classroom Practices (1969-), in order to generate discussion on successful classroom practices, often on focused themes, such as speaking, listening, collaborative learning, sexism, and students with special needs.
