Scope and Contents

Papers of Paul M. Green, M.S. '27, Ph.D. '33 (1902-1974), dean of the college (1952-67), and professor of finance (1937-41) and business administration (1952-67), containing correspondence, reports, publications (1926-51), speeches (1944-58) and clippings (1939-72) relating to consulting work in accounting and auditing for federal agencies including appointments as deputy administrator in charge of accounting at the Office of Price Administration (1941-47), first comptroller of the Atomic Energy Commission (1947-50), comptroller of the Economic Cooperation Administration (1950-52), deputy assistant secretary (special consultant) in the Department of Defense and consultant to the Cooper Congressional Advisory Committee on Fiscal Organization and Procedures (1953).  The papers include correspondence with staff in the House of Representatives (1957-60), the General Accounting Organization (1956-59), Post Office (1959-60), Small Business Administration (1958-60), Departments of State, and National Aeronautics and Spaces Administration.  Dean Green developed comptroller and audit management training programs for foreign students and professors funded by the Foreign Operations Administration (1953-54), International Cooperation Administration (1955-59), and the Agency for International Development (1965-67).
