Willis Nels Bruce, a Professor of Entomology a the University of Illinois, was born Sept. 6, 1916 in Nebraska and died August 26, 2008 in Champaign, IL. In 1953, he developed a replacement pesticide for DDT and later developed a gas chromotography device for detecting pesticides in food.
