Director's Office | University of Illinois Archives
<p class="main">The University Office of Corporate and Public Services was created in 1986 when the director of the
University Office of Federal and Corporate Relations resigned and the duties of the office were given
to the University Office of Public Relations, which started in 1973, and the new unit was renamed.
The Office is an all-University organization, and is under the direction of the Vice-President for
Academic Affairs. The Offices of Corporate Relations, Intellectual Property, Statewide
Programming, the University Film Center, the Fire Service Institute, and the Police Training Institute
were under the direction of the Office. The Office of Federal Relations was also under Corporate
and Public Service until 1989. The Office is charged with coordinating continuing education and
serves as a liaison between the state and the University of Illinois.
