Dunlap '75 (1853-1938), state senator (1892-1912, 1916-32) including correspondence (1911, 1919-31), news releases and clippings and account books (1877-81, 1886-95, 1906-17), relating to farm and personal business, university appropriations, Republican party politics and election campaigns (1910-30), legislative business (1911, 1919-31) and appointments.

Legislative correspondence covers state police bills, gasoline tax measures, highways, prohibition enforcement, taxation and revenue, pensions and relief, education, licensing, election returns and patronage.

Correspondents include Charles Deneen, Louis Emmerson, Lloyd Morey, newspaper editors and farm employees.

The series includes cousin Burleigh A. Dunlap's 1874 summer surveying journal; proceedings of the Horticulture Board of Control of the Illinois State Horticultural Society, May 1 - Oct. 31, 1893 and Mrs. Dunlap's master farm homemaker file (1927-32).
