Description: This collection contains pictures of library buildings in photographic papers and postcards. Some of the pictures are in the form of paintings and other kinds of artist-rendering arts. Some postcards were from F. W. Faxon collection. Each postcard has two images, the front and back. Your search result for a specific postcard might have three images: the front image, the back image, and the compound object. The description field of the front image will contain the transcription on the front of the postcard. Likewise, the description field of the back image will contain the transcription on the back of the postcard (except the personal note and/or information). A compound object is a record that "ties" together the front and back images of a postcard. Most fields in a compound object record will contain the same information as the ones in the front and back image records. The Description field only contains instruction to see the front and back image records for detailed transcriptions.
