Description: The Michigan Council of Teachers of English Publications contains the Newsletter of the Michigan Council of Teachers of English (1958, 1960), the journals The Michigan English Teacher (1965-), Journal of the Michigan Council of Teachers of English (1966) and the Language Arts Journal of Michigan (1989-90), the books, A Two-Way Street (1982, 1988), and other books, all of which are published by the Michigan Council of Teachers of English, a state affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), in order to provide guidance on special topics in teaching (e.g., poverty) and to discuss pedagogical theory and research, with A Two-Way Street having a specific focus of how to integrate reading and writing from kindergarten to high school.
