Description: Reprints and separate publications of essays, addresses, reports and scientific papers by Thomas J. Burrill, Acting Regent (1890-94), relating to horticultural, agricultural, botanical, bacteriological and educational subjects; bacterial and fungus diseases of plants; plant physiology and pathology; arboriculture; climatal injuries in orchards; blight of fruit trees and bitter rot; forest trees; silk culture; John M. Gregory; presidential addresses to the Illinois Horticultural Society (1879, 1886) and American Microscopical Society (1904) and microscopy and microorganisms. The series includes Burrill's reports as acting regent (1892-94) and his January 20, 1894 address to the University Assembly on "Our University" relating to the University's Columbian Exposition exhibit, recognition of the University's standing in Urbana-Champaign, indications of growth, the Christian Association's building and future projects.
