Soviet Interview Project Questionnaires for General Survey #1 (G-1) consisting of 235 16mm microfilm rolls containing ca. 2752 questionnaires used in 1983 interviews of persons who emigrated from the Soviet Union between 1979 and 1981. The questionnaires, written in Russian, contain questions regarding emigrants' life histories, education, children, family and personal relationships, employment, places of residence, experiences with the Soviet system, and attitudes toward Russian society. The series includes supplementary questionnaires concerning medical care, crime, media, recreation and literature, and interviewers' remarks in English concerning the circumstances of the interview, and the behavior and reliability of the interviewees. All G-1 and supplementary questionnaires have microfiche copies. Also included in this series are 23 16mm microfilm rolls with 23 duplicates containing 571 questionnaires used in 1986 interviews with emigrants who came to the United States from 1979 to 1981. These General Survey #2 (G-2) questionnaires are nearly identical in format to G-1. A final set of questionnaires for military and civilian open-ended responses consists of 13 microfiche cards containing ca. 1113 questionnaires used in supplementary 1986 interviews.
