Files of the Union of Professional Employees (UPE) accumulated by president and vice-president Thomas Krueger including material related to the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT), National Coalition for Teacher Unity and The Assistants Union. The series includes articles on the university budget, collective bargaining, faculty salaries, John Hirschfeld, Levis Faculty Center and the 1972 Illinois gubernatorial campaign; correspondence with Richard Ogilvie, Dan Walker, state legislators, university administrators and the Board of Trustees and material on the movement for a collective bargaining unit, recruitment and membership, newsletters, the Robert Byars and Louis Gold cases and impeachment. This series also includes files realating to activities of the UPE in 1980-81.
