Papers of Edwin B. Peebles (1901-1977) of Detroit, Michigan and Bloomington, Illinois including correspondence, notes, journals, diaries, photographs, workpapers, manuscripts, publications and audio tapes relating to the spiritual world including use of a medium to reach deceased individuals such as his mother and family and relating to the Apostle John, Edgar Cayce, Martin Luther King, Mary (Mother of Jesus), the Apostle Peter, Jesus Christ, Joan of Arc, Mahatma Gandi, Daniel, King David, the Archangel Gabriel, John the Baptist, the Three Wise Men, Omar Khayam, Mark the Disciple, Matthew, Moses and Mary Magdelene. The series includes drafts and proofs of the "Kingdom of the Mind" (1973) and "Hidden Truths" (1974); a diary of the Peebles family in Mooresville, Alabama (1854-57, 1864-65) relating to plantations, temperance, slavery, religion, business and the Civil War.
