Papers of George P. Stauduhar (1863-1928, B.S. Architecture, 1889), Rock Island architect (1890-1928), containing correspondence relating to the University of Illinois (1886-99), architectural practice, clients, contracts, construction and costs; financial records and ledgers (1874-76, 1888-1928); general reference file of published literature on architectural styles, churches, office buildings, residences and furnishings; trade literature issued by manufacturers and suppliers of construction materials, equipment, furniture, ornaments and utility systems; plans (1890-1928) for public buildings, residences and Roman Catholic churches, convents, rectories and schools in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, and North Dakota; specifications (1890-1928) for general construction, electrical work; heating, plumbing and other work on 169 projects; and photographs (1900-28) of interiors and exteriors of churches under construction and completed, residences in Rock Island and family. The papers include documentation of 64 Roman Catholic church projects in Illinois, residences in the Rock Island area and Mississippi River steamers.
