The Office of Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, established April 19, 1967, is aided by an Associate Vice-Chancellor and Director of the Office of Planning and Evaluation.
Responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Affairs, effective October 1, 1972, are the divisions of housing, parking and transportation, telecommunications, the Illini Union, and the Assembly Hall.
On October 1, 1972, the Division of Operations and Maintenance came under the authority of the Vice-Chancellor for Administrative Affairs.
The Office of Vice-Chancellor for Research and Dean of the Graduate College grew out of the Office of Associate Vice-Chancellor for Research and Development, formerly under the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
