In 1968, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts provided a concert hall, music theatre, drama theatre and laboratory theatre with underground parking and offices. With the Krannert Art Museum (1961), the Krannert Center continued the tradition of private funding for the fine arts begun with the Smith Music Hall in 1920.
