Scope and Contents: This collection contains correspondence, book and short story drafts, photographs, newspapers, magazines, and ephemera from the Michael L. and Pamela C. VanBlaricum Ian Fleming and Bondiana Collection. The correspondence comprises letters and telegrams from Ian Fleming to Clare Blanshard and Donald McCormick, respectively; the letters mostly concern Fleming's novel, Casino Royale. Drafts include a script for the 1954 Climax television episode of Casino Royale; a screenplay for the unfilmed James Bond story, "Warhead;" two Fleming short story drafts; four drafts for Bond continuation novels; and a draft for The James Bond Bedside Companion by Raymond Benson. The collection also includes three newspaper clippings of articles and book reviews by Fleming. Also included are a copy of the memorial address from Fleming's funeral, Ann Fleming's handwritten notes about the final days of her husband's life, a 1917 newspaper containing Fleming's father's obituary written by Winston Churchill, a photocopy of a 1961 article detailing President John F. Kennedy's reading habits, and assorted promotional materials.
