Arrangement: Volume 2 is broken up into two distinct sections, one written from the beginning of the book from the center and one written from the end of the book to the center, with blank pages in-between.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

This collection consists of two commonplace books containing essays about religion and other topics. The first volume includes essays on religious and philosophical subjects, brief biographies of historical figures, and a small number of poems. The majority of the contents are in English and many of the essays include citations to various sources. The second volume contains essays in both English and Latin, often with Biblical citations.
