This year’s American Music Month celebration kicks off with a special 60-minute performance by Captain Ian Gindes in the Foellinger Great Hall on November 2 to honor our military community and recognize all who served and who are currently serving in the military. The program will include patriotic selections as well as works by Sousa, Copland, and Gershwin, including Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue for two pianos with guest Jiafeng Yan. Ian Gindes serves in the United States Army Illinois National Guard and recently received his DMA in music/piano performance.
