The new temporary exhibit, “Della Perrone: New Photographs from Today’s Thriving Music Scene” opens today at the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music, and will remain until April 13th.  Since 1981 Della Perrone has photographed live concerts of local bands and national acts performing throughout our community, and her work over the past three years builds on her artful reflection of the musicians and bands who have recently entertained Urbana and Champaign audiences, such as Sun Stereo, Seventeen Sisters, Brad Elvis and the Romantics, Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes, and Kathy Harden. This exhibit explores through Perrone’s colorful photographs the beauty of our vibrant music community.   For more information on this and other exhibits available for viewing either call 217-244-9309 or send an email to sousaarchives.org.
